The Public Service Health Science Endorsement is ideal for students interested in entering the medical field (nursing, sonography, chiropractic care, etc.). The emphasis is to prepare the students for the coursework they will encounter in their degree fields.
Students complete upper level science courses in Anatomy and Pathophysiology before being placed in an internship of their interest. We currently have interns at the South Arlington Veterinary Hospital and the Mansfield Chiropractic Clinic. The feedback regarding our interns from the sponsoring doctors has been tremendous with respect to work ethic, knowledge, genuineness, and willingness to learn.
While the student workload is no doubt challenging, the reward of getting this "hands on experience” is immeasurable…see what our excited interns have to say: "I got to handle my own patient today all by myself. At first I was nervous, but then I just remembered what they had taught me to do!" and "I got to go with Dr.Vaugh today to help with his surgeries!"
